Currently, the movies are in MPG4 format. If you need a suitable player, you can follow the following steps... You might want to print this information so that you do not have to keep referring to the web-page for instructions.
Download Windows Media Player 7. Save it to your desktop, or someplace you can find it easily. It is approximately 9 MB in size, and may take an hour with a good dial-up connection. If the download keeps getting interrupted, or stops progressing for a long time (there will be pauses which are ok), it might be better if we mail a copy on CD to you.
Double-click on wmp7.exe
A message will pop-up telling you to exit all programs before proceeding. You can leave your browser (which you are looking at this from and clicked the download) running, but exit anything like Word that you are not using. Then click "YES", indicating you wish to proceed.
A message will pop-up with a license agreement and lots of legalese. Just click "Yes".
A pop-up will come up saying it will help you install. Click "Next".
Another pop-up with legalese about privacy will pop up. This disscusses all the information which it will tell others about you. It mainly will tell Microsoft information about video and audio you play. Just be aware that big brother is watching (at least while connected to the internet, that is). Click the box marked "I have read the Privacy Statement", and then "Next". If you want, we can later disable all this information gathering they mention... - just let me know.
Another pop-up with some components listed. Click "Next"
Another pop-up with some check-boxes asking what files it should be able to play. Click "Next".
A final pop-up which says it is ready to go. Click "Next" and it should install...
When done, it will say everything was successful, and that the computer must be restarted. Click "Finish" to restart your computer. You should be all set.
When restarted, it will say it is updating some stuff, then the computer should come up normally.
