I recently bought a gadget to allow me to capture video off our camcorder in the form of MPEG movies (and then possibly convert to streaming video - but the quality seems kind of crappy). There are two formats used: mpg (MPEG4) and rm (Real). Windows Media Player 7 can play either one, and you can grab a copy and get directions for installation here.
