Skin Pocket

The Problem

There are never enough pockets to hold all your stuff. Women's clothing doesn't tend to have pockets (thus my pockets get more full with another set of keys and wallet). And unless you were the best looking, friendliest guy in a prison there is no "natural" pocket to stash things if you go skinning dipping. I have seen a product which consists of a plastic container you hang around your neck which is water-proof, but you might not always have it with you and it's kind of geeky-looking.

The Solution

There is lots of excess space in a human body, and skin stretches really well. So, rather than carry or wear something for storage, why not make some space that is always with you? Some simply surgery and they could implant a small "pocket" the size of a credit card for carrying ID and a couple of bucks. For women, perhaps a small cavity in their abdomen for make-up, wallet and a pack of smokes. They have plastics and other materials which the body will accept being implanted, and just slap a zipper on the opening (or ziploc, whatever). Never be without your passport in a foreign country - always carry it in your person rather than on. Think of the convenience! I have always thought that people with prosthetic limbs could use the extra space to store things, but why should they have all the convenience? Make space for an electronic organizer and you'll never be unusure of scheduling. Carry a spare house key just in case.

There are endless uses for pockets, and having one right inside one's body, always available, would be the ultimate in convenience. And don't forget the fact that it would be hidden except for in a detailed frisking or strip-search. Tired of swalling condoms full of cocaine and risking they burst due to airline delays? (not to mention later extraction of said drugs - ick!). No more need for that. Just unzip and load up. Need a place to stash your wedding ring while you work the crowd during Ladies Night, slide it off your finger and in your leg-pocket. You can even place each pocket in a particular location for convenience and function.

Specific Examples

  • Stick your pen in a small arm pocket (great for people without ears)
  • Slip your glasses in your breast pocket
  • Pop a needle in a shin-pocket to take care of blisters on that 15k walk
  • Squeeze a small tube on Preparation-H in your rear pocket for those hemmeroid flare-ups
  • Slide a small tube of KY in a thigh pocket for easy access
